Finally back!!

I'm in a sewing mood, I think it's the spring weather... not sure... but either way I am dying for this dress.

Wouldn't this look precious with a sun hat or some red flowers in your hair? The navy and red reminds me of all the clothing that the nurses wore in Pearl Harbor when they were going out on Sunday <3 (Say what you want about it, but I love that movie!) I could wear it anywhere! Out for errands about town, to the beach, anywhere.

I've been on a hunt for a sailor dress for ages. I want one in navy, but maybe something in red would be sweet... I want the skirt to be something between the knee length and the pleated skirts. But that play suit version is tempting...

WANT

Oh my gosh, this is just a quick post, but after a quick glance around the mod cloth website I just realized they're selling their back seamed tights again! So they aren't vintage accurate ones like the kind What Katie Did sells, but I still want a pair, I was heart broken when they stopped selling them!

Mod Money... what to spend it on?

So for Christmas, one of my two very fabulous sisters gave me a fifty dollar gift certificate for MOD CLOTH. Ohmahgah. I was obviously thrilled. Originally, I was going to buy their high waisted nautical swim suit, but now that's all sold out. (Plus I found an adorable mint green plaid high waisted one I want more, but that's for a different post.) So what to buy? A dress of course! I am just in LOVE with Mod Cloth dresses, choosing one is easier said than done. With over three hundred dresses it's actually darn near impossible.

Here are my top three choices, I've wanted them for a longggg time, and still want them:

Okay, I'm starting with a personal favorite here, this is the World's Fair Dress. I've wanted it since found the website. I just love everything about it! (Guess what, when the World's Fair was in Chicago, in the thirties, my grandmother sold popcorn there! Weird little fact, hah!)

The Cute Clipper Dress; oh how doth I love thee?  I love it! I have been searching for a sailor dress for weeks now, it's been verging on an obsession. I was actually planning on sewing one myself, but Mod Cloth must have just read my mind.  I was looking for a more Navy-looking sailor dress, like the one Esme and the Lane Way has, her's is just adorable. This is wayyy different, and so cute. Well as different as sailor dresses can get from each other.

This is the Soda Fountain dress in Ginger, but really any of the three colors would be great! I reallly love this one, but it always seems to be out of stock, and compared to the other two this would be far easier to find. Of course this little ditty is actually in my price range! Thats a plus!

Late Night Creeps+Inability to Sleep = New Post!

Oh poor blog! How I have been neglecting you! It's been three days since my last post, and I feel like a bad mama, but how glamorous or exciting can a girl's fashion be when she's just being sick in a sweat suit and watching What Not to Wear or The Golden Girls? Not very, I should know. But never fear!

Okay, earlier this evening, well yesterday, considering it's one in the morning, I found Violet Le Beaux's blog. And I'll be darned if it isn't one of the cutest things I have ever seen. Okay, so I have this secret, that I've never told anyone, but in seventh grade, I found Loli fashion, and I wanted it. For several months I just planned on ways to get my hands onto one of those lovely lacey girly dresses that weren't shipped anywhere outside of Japan, but eventually gave up. A girl can only dream so much.

So where am I going with this post? Well in one of Violet's outfit posts, she mentioned the Website Baby the Stars Shine Bright, oh mah gah. What a blast from the past! I don't think I've looked at the website in three years! (oh that makes me feel old)

Surprise surprise, I found myself drooling over dresses yet again. So okay, my style has changed a lotttt since seventh grade, (And thank god, it was really awful, It was towards the end of my weird cargo pants/faux punk phase, but sadly, not the end of my fashion woes.) but for some reason, something about a Loli dress just makes me wanna squeal. Now get me straight here, I don't think I would want to be a Loli girl, they're really sweet, but I'm kind of a sucker for red lipstick and victory rolls, it wouldn't work. Even so, I love the dresses.

I'm just gonna try to cut myself off before I type a small essay, and just post some pictures of my favorites.

I can't get over this dress, *Swoon!* It's chocolate brown. I've had a secret love affair with the color chocolate brown, since my sister's wedding, where all the bridesmaids dresses were chocolate brown. If you can't tell, I'm kind of in love with this color.

Confession time, I am not a fan of novelty prints, not in the least. I just don't understand them. BUT, this is one that I just find utterly adorable! How sweet is this? I might just die from adorability overload.

Ohhhh. I love me some gingham. I think I was raised on this stuff! So I'm not a total fan of this dress (IE: The criss cross at the neck, and the high waist) but it was just tooooo cute to pass up. Get a load of all the bows!

Last one, I promise!

BTSB has some of the most squeal worthy skirts ever, not gonna lie. I mean who in their right mind could pass up an Alice in Wonderland print skirt ? I duno, maybe a heartless person who kicks puppies, steals candy from babies, and runs over little old ladies in the street. Yeah. Loves it!

Thats it for now! Kudos if you actually read everything I wrote, but I don't blame you if you didn't, and then just skipped ahead to look at all of the pretty dresses ;)

Dreaming of Springtime!

It must be the fact that I've been couped up inside this whole time, but I'm finding the thought of a springy pastel dress really appealing. I don't even know why! I've never liked pastel colors! Think about it, a pretty flouncy dress, with a crinoline underneath, and some dainty white gloves, how cute would that be? It just seems so novel at the moment!

Isn't this the sweetest thing you've ever seen? I love this sunny yellow color, it's just cheering me up by looking at it! This is what originally got me on my pastel kick.  It looks a leeetle bit Betty Draper-ish to me, or am I crazy?

Photobucket

Okay maybe I am a teeny bit crazy, but I think so :)

This number just stole my heart, that eyelet fabric is too cute, it's just screaming at me to buy it! The tulle pink, the eyelet, and the neckline is precious. It makes me think of a tea party or Easter or something!

Photobucket

This one is a bit different from the others, it's not as floofy or as cupcakey looking, you know? Just a pretty simple wiggle dress. I love that neck detail though, without it the dress would just be a little blah, but with cute heels and a white cardi, it would be perfect.

Sadly I couldn't find a little mint green dress. Boooo. I love mint! Oh well, I'm gonna leave you with one last thing;

Oh. My. Goodness. They even have matching little gloves to go with the dresses! Love!

Song for the week: Set Fire to the Third Bar

Oh my god, from the moment the Dear John trailer came out, I've been obsessed with this song. Since I've been sick I haven't been able to go see the movie. Boo :( I'll get around to it eventually! I loveeee this song, except that Marthia's voice might be a bit too whiny for my taste, but it almost adds to the song. Oh I don't know.
