WANT

Oh my gosh, this is just a quick post, but after a quick glance around the mod cloth website I just realized they're selling their back seamed tights again! So they aren't vintage accurate ones like the kind What Katie Did sells, but I still want a pair, I was heart broken when they stopped selling them!

Mod Money... what to spend it on?

So for Christmas, one of my two very fabulous sisters gave me a fifty dollar gift certificate for MOD CLOTH. Ohmahgah. I was obviously thrilled. Originally, I was going to buy their high waisted nautical swim suit, but now that's all sold out. (Plus I found an adorable mint green plaid high waisted one I want more, but that's for a different post.) So what to buy? A dress of course! I am just in LOVE with Mod Cloth dresses, choosing one is easier said than done. With over three hundred dresses it's actually darn near impossible.

Here are my top three choices, I've wanted them for a longggg time, and still want them:

Okay, I'm starting with a personal favorite here, this is the World's Fair Dress. I've wanted it since found the website. I just love everything about it! (Guess what, when the World's Fair was in Chicago, in the thirties, my grandmother sold popcorn there! Weird little fact, hah!)

The Cute Clipper Dress; oh how doth I love thee?  I love it! I have been searching for a sailor dress for weeks now, it's been verging on an obsession. I was actually planning on sewing one myself, but Mod Cloth must have just read my mind.  I was looking for a more Navy-looking sailor dress, like the one Esme and the Lane Way has, her's is just adorable. This is wayyy different, and so cute. Well as different as sailor dresses can get from each other.

This is the Soda Fountain dress in Ginger, but really any of the three colors would be great! I reallly love this one, but it always seems to be out of stock, and compared to the other two this would be far easier to find. Of course this little ditty is actually in my price range! Thats a plus!

Late Night Creeps+Inability to Sleep = New Post!

Oh poor blog! How I have been neglecting you! It's been three days since my last post, and I feel like a bad mama, but how glamorous or exciting can a girl's fashion be when she's just being sick in a sweat suit and watching What Not to Wear or The Golden Girls? Not very, I should know. But never fear!

Okay, earlier this evening, well yesterday, considering it's one in the morning, I found Violet Le Beaux's blog. And I'll be darned if it isn't one of the cutest things I have ever seen. Okay, so I have this secret, that I've never told anyone, but in seventh grade, I found Loli fashion, and I wanted it. For several months I just planned on ways to get my hands onto one of those lovely lacey girly dresses that weren't shipped anywhere outside of Japan, but eventually gave up. A girl can only dream so much.

So where am I going with this post? Well in one of Violet's outfit posts, she mentioned the Website Baby the Stars Shine Bright, oh mah gah. What a blast from the past! I don't think I've looked at the website in three years! (oh that makes me feel old)

Surprise surprise, I found myself drooling over dresses yet again. So okay, my style has changed a lotttt since seventh grade, (And thank god, it was really awful, It was towards the end of my weird cargo pants/faux punk phase, but sadly, not the end of my fashion woes.) but for some reason, something about a Loli dress just makes me wanna squeal. Now get me straight here, I don't think I would want to be a Loli girl, they're really sweet, but I'm kind of a sucker for red lipstick and victory rolls, it wouldn't work. Even so, I love the dresses.

I'm just gonna try to cut myself off before I type a small essay, and just post some pictures of my favorites.

I can't get over this dress, *Swoon!* It's chocolate brown. I've had a secret love affair with the color chocolate brown, since my sister's wedding, where all the bridesmaids dresses were chocolate brown. If you can't tell, I'm kind of in love with this color.

Confession time, I am not a fan of novelty prints, not in the least. I just don't understand them. BUT, this is one that I just find utterly adorable! How sweet is this? I might just die from adorability overload.

Ohhhh. I love me some gingham. I think I was raised on this stuff! So I'm not a total fan of this dress (IE: The criss cross at the neck, and the high waist) but it was just tooooo cute to pass up. Get a load of all the bows!

Last one, I promise!

BTSB has some of the most squeal worthy skirts ever, not gonna lie. I mean who in their right mind could pass up an Alice in Wonderland print skirt ? I duno, maybe a heartless person who kicks puppies, steals candy from babies, and runs over little old ladies in the street. Yeah. Loves it!

Thats it for now! Kudos if you actually read everything I wrote, but I don't blame you if you didn't, and then just skipped ahead to look at all of the pretty dresses ;)

Dreaming of Springtime!

It must be the fact that I've been couped up inside this whole time, but I'm finding the thought of a springy pastel dress really appealing. I don't even know why! I've never liked pastel colors! Think about it, a pretty flouncy dress, with a crinoline underneath, and some dainty white gloves, how cute would that be? It just seems so novel at the moment!

Photobucket

Isn't this the sweetest thing you've ever seen? I love this sunny yellow color, it's just cheering me up by looking at it! This is what originally got me on my pastel kick.  It looks a leeetle bit Betty Draper-ish to me, or am I crazy?

Photobucket

Okay maybe I am a teeny bit crazy, but I think so :)

Photobucket

This number just stole my heart, that eyelet fabric is too cute, it's just screaming at me to buy it! The tulle pink, the eyelet, and the neckline is precious. It makes me think of a tea party or Easter or something!

Photobucket

This one is a bit different from the others, it's not as floofy or as cupcakey looking, you know? Just a pretty simple wiggle dress. I love that neck detail though, without it the dress would just be a little blah, but with cute heels and a white cardi, it would be perfect.

Sadly I couldn't find a little mint green dress. Boooo. I love mint! Oh well, I'm gonna leave you with one last thing;

Photobucket

Oh. My. Goodness. They even have matching little gloves to go with the dresses! Love!

Song for the week: Set Fire to the Third Bar

Oh my god, from the moment the Dear John trailer came out, I've been obsessed with this song. Since I've been sick I haven't been able to go see the movie. Boo :( I'll get around to it eventually! I loveeee this song, except that Marthia's voice might be a bit too whiny for my taste, but it almost adds to the song. Oh I don't know.

All done up, and no where to go.

I must be the only girl in the world who would spend more time getting ready to just lay around on the couch and be sick than most girls spend to get ready for a dance. I got tired of being all gross and dirty like a hippie so I just did my hair and put on some makeup, stuff like that.

Please ignore the fact that I look so pale that I could be a zombie! It's just wonky lighting! My hair wasn't cooperating though, I had to use hot rollers to style it, and these things must be from the 80s, they are insanely old, so it didn't work out too well, but I looooooveeee my loopies, they aren't pin curls, but they aren't victory rolls... they're just loopies!

Here's a better look at the loopies! Just pretend you can't see all those boby pins, I might have my hair done, but I'm still deleriously sick and lazy. I have another loopy on the on the other side of my part, but I had to use some major skills to lift my laptop up and get a webcam photo, soooooooo you don't get to see a picture of the other side. You can have your cake but you can't eat it.

Last fall I was on this huge charm bracelet kick, I had the best charm bracelet ever, seriously. I had an iPod charm, a nintendo DS that opened up and had glow in the dark screens, a hello kitty, a mini gum ball machine. Okay so it was really childish, when I say childish I mean really childish, I bought the charms at a toy store, they were poor quality. I loved it until the charms started breaking or falling off, and that was that. No more charms, I just went on this hiatus.

Okay now fast forward however many months it's been to right now. I'm kind of obsessed with pastry charms. They're all over etsy! Sooooooo adorable. I just wanna eat em up! except they're made out of polymer clay.... >>;

These are the most adorable charms I have ever seen, it's highly likely I'll just end up buying a million. These three cakes are from the Sugary Sprinkles shop on Etsy, it's just making me hungry looking at them. She doesn't only make cake, but also cupcakes too, how cute! Oooooh it just makes me squeal! The teeeeny leeeetle lemon on the middle cake is the sweetest!

These cuties are from Bling and Pink on Etsy, she primarily makes macaroons, but every now and then she has something different in her shop (like that cute little chocolate I couldn't help but sneak in there. How cute!)

Of course a ton of people also sell doughnuts and stuff... but I don't even like the taste of doughnuts, or how they look, or anything, so I'll be a mean brat and exclude them ;P
One last thing to leave you with!
This sweet little red velvet cake charm bracelet is from Cute-N-Sweet Cafe, I think this might be my absolute favorite! I mean who doesn't love red velvet cake? Yum!

*I'm not receiving any compensation for mentioning these Etsy stores, nor am I affiliated with any of them.

Hair Inspiration (Zhou Xuan)

Sick day number... four I think. Major hair inspiration! Oh my goodness, I was trolling around the internet looking at blogs, and found the Bobby Pin Blog. It's amazing, honestly if you haven't been reading it already, you need to be. Anyway, back on topic.

She had this post about Zhou Xuan, a Chinese actress in the 40s. I've never seen a movie she's been in before, or even heard of her before, but she was called the Golden Voice of China, because she had such a beautiful voice. After a bad string of relationships with men she died at 38, which is just so sad. :(
I absolutely love the first picture, it's so sweet! The makeup is flawless, and I can't actually see the dress, but I love the yellow plaid. Omgod it just makes me want to run out and buy some plaid fabric to make a dress. But what I love the most is the hair, I love the way the bangs are rolled in this one, it's like... a victory roll, but to the side. I wish I could see what the back looked like though... Oh well!

I love the second hairstyle, but I have kind of a round face, so I'm not so keen on just pulling back my hair out of my face. Either way, the ribbon is adorable, when I was little I used to wear bows in my hair all the time, if anything I think I'm gonna bring back the bows. :)

Ahhhh if I wasn't stuck in this house I would be doing my hair up like this!

Swoon!

Sick day, number three. There isn't really much to say about it, still feeling awful, ohhh! but the mail truck just stopped by with a lovely box from sephora!! okay I'll make a post about it next, but this isn't about magical mail trucks that brighten my day or anything. This post is about Mod Cloth. I absolutely adore Mod Cloth.

Yesterday they sent out this email about their new vintage collection. Oh. My God. All those pretty dresses! The lipstick! And it's set at a train station! It's gorgeous.

Okay okay enough rambling, my absolute favorites! (Oh and please ignore my awful attempt at a collage or anything, being sick this was the best that I could manage.)

Want. Want. Want. It's the Always and Forever dress. It's so gorgeous! Of course it is also impossible that I could ever get it, I mean there are probably two million other people also swooning over it, so I guess it's just another dress thats gonna be put onto my sewing list. So gorgeous!!

Oh my goodness, this dress is going on my sewing list too! It's the Wish You Were Here dress! This one is so sweet. I just love the little square neckline and the color! I'm crossing my fingers that I can snag one, but like that's ever gonna happen.

TLC needs new programming.

Every show on that station is about a wedding, a midget, having an abnormally large family, or babies. Honestly, I don't care if the little couple can't have a baby, or if someone spent a million dollars buying turtle shaped cake for their wedding.

I duno. Maybe I'm just biased because I've been watching tv like this for two days straight. I don't know, it just gets... ridiculous! I don't care I don't care I don't care. Okay so I do have one guilty pleasure though.

Photobucket
Little Miss Perfect! Cutest thing ever! Disturbing and cute! I just wanna dress up in one of those poofy little dresses or something! I can't believe some of the people on the show though. They're... mentally unstable.

I'm Sick

It's snowing outside, really nasty, really boring. I'm sick and just testing to see if there are any problems with my blog layout, lalalalaaa
